Last Updated: March 2026
These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the Ngqongqoshe Funeral Parlour website and services. By accessing our site or applying for cover, you agree to comply with these terms in full. We are a registered Financial Services Provider (FSP 47003).
In terms of Section 43 of the **Electronic Communications and Transactions Act (ECTA)**, we provide the following information:
We offer three main funeral insurance plans:
Age-Based Surcharges: Premiums are subject to age-based increases for members joining between ages 66-74 (+R20) and 75-85 (+R50).
Prices are reviewed annually. You will be notified in writing at least 30 days before any premium adjustment takes effect.
Premiums are payable monthly in advance via EFT bank transfer, ATM Deposit, or cash at our branches. You may also set up a Stop Order with your bank. Please note that Ngqongqoshe Funeral Parlour does NOT perform debit orders. Payments are due on the date specified in your policy schedule. No refunds are provided for premiums or any payments made to our account.
Waiting Periods: A standard 6-month waiting period applies to all new policies for death due to natural causes. A 12-month waiting period applies for death by suicide. Accidental death is covered immediately upon receipt of the first premium and policy activation.
Payment Rules: You may not skip payments during the first 6 months. After 6 months, you may skip up to 2 months, but the 3rd month must include payment for all 3 months. Failure to do so will result in policy lapse and a 3-month reinstatement waiting period.
In accordance with the Consumer Protection Act (CPA), you have a **31-day cooling-off period** from the date you receive your policy document. You may cancel within this period for a full refund of any premiums paid, provided no claim has been submitted.
You may cancel your policy at any time by giving 30 days' written notice. We reserve the right to cancel cover in the event of non-payment of premiums (after the grace period) or in the event of a fraudulent claim.
We value your feedback and aim to resolve any disputes quickly. If you have a complaint, please follow our process:
